Dating Services and Matchmakers Some people have a negative opinion of those who use dating services or hire matchmakers. However, the persons utilizing these services are most often upstanding citizens. Many hold occupations requiring extensive work hours and haven't the time nor the energy to circulate. In other cases, there are a few who feel uncomfortable in large social settings, where the possibility of securing a date is greatest.
